"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams

Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left.
Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State.

Be the light, not the darkness

Jonathan Pageau posted an excellent video today on the Christian's role in a rapidly de-generating society. It is to continue to be the little lights in the darkness. To trust that what Christ told us was true, and to avoid being drawn in to accelerationism, to the desire to "push things over the edge." Because when you participate in the destruction of something, you will be sucked in behind it and destroyed also.

His message applies equally to secular Libertarians who want peace between men, and to Christians who want to see the Kingdom of God manifest in their daily lives and on earth.

5G Wireless and Public Safety

The 5G Wireless rollout has begun. But it's not the first time RF radiating devices have been sold to the general public. Virtually all wireless technologies have no safety testing, and their radiation dosage is significant.

My company - 9CI - recently measured common RF sources in the home.

Modern cars also have multiple RF transmitters in them - Bluetooth, key transponders, WiFi, etc.

The FCC's approach to 5G is a supply/demand one. Three is huge demand for high speed data links to mobile device, and their job is to meet that demand by allocating and providing "spectrum" to providers. The demand comes from consumers/customers. All market driven.

There are, however, possible externalities. Un-priced long term costs. Health effects are one of these possible externalities.

Wireless technology appears to be on a similar path to tobacco with regards to long term health effects, who bears the cost and suffering of these effects, and who is legally protected from liability. This separation of liability from the product has created an incentive for wireless providers and device manufactures to get as much as they can as quickly as they can get it. High time preference.

Because manufacturers are free of liability, there is no market incentive for them to study the health effects of prolonged exposure to microwave and millimeter-wave radiation on 5G devices (as well as 4G/LTE, 3G, 2G, GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc).

An excellent documentary on the health effects of RF radiation is Generation Zapped, available on Amazon or the iTunes store.

You as an individual can make informed decisions and take your health and well being into your own hands. With a small amount of effort, you can protect yourself from sources of RF radiation in your living space and work space.

My company - 9CI - designs and manufactures the Safe and Sound line of RF detectors -  simple to use, highly accurate detectors and meters. We have partnered with Safe Living Technologies to produce these meters entirely in North America so that the general public has a laboratory tested and calibrated tool for detecting sources of electromagnetic radiation in their living and work spaces.

Once these sources have been identified, Safe Living Technologies offers products to protect your space, including shielding paints, fabrics, and construction materials to be used during new construction and renovation.

There's no need to complain or feel powerless about these new technologies. You can easily identify them with an RF detector or meter, and you can protect yourself from their negative health effects in many simple and cost-effective ways.

CELEBRATE!!!

The Mises Institute, after years and much much work, is going to publish Rothbard’s volume 5 of “Conceived in Liberty”.
Murray died before he could publish this final volume, and it has taken years for the Mises Institute to put all his writings together to make this happen.
Read the story behind it here:Conceived in Liberty 5, the lost volume.
Thanks to my great friend David Giessel who first gave me the first 4 volumes, I have read the complete book 3 times, and will start it again. Read about the real champions of Liberty, the real cause of the American experience, Freedom of Conscience, to break away from the bonds of the State, to worship, or not, the God of Hosts as one is led to, not as one is commanded by the State to.

You can help publish this great, worthy cause by donating here.

You can get the first 4 volumes many ways, either digitally, the audio book, or the hardback edition
here.

Encouragement from de la Boetie

As a follow up to David’s post with Charles McCarthy, I thought I would re-post from Étienne de la Boetie’s “Politics of Obedience, A Discourse on Voluntary Servitude”, written in 1553.

Poor, wretched, and stupid peoples, nations determined on your own misfortune and blind to your own good! You let yourselves be deprived before your own eyes of the best part of your revenues; your fields are plundered, your homes robbed, your family heirlooms taken away. You live in such a way that you cannot claim a single thing as your own; and it would seem that you consider yourselves lucky to be loaned your property, your families, and your very lives. All this havoc, this misfortune, this ruin, descends upon you not from alien foes, but from the one enemy whom you yourselves render as powerful as he is, for whom you go bravely to war, for whose greatness you do not refuse to offer your own bodies unto death. He who thus domineers over you has only two eyes, only two hands, only one body, no more than is possessed by the least man among the infinite numbers dwelling in your cities; he has indeed nothing more than the power that you confer upon him to destroy you. Where has he acquired enough eyes to spy upon you, if you do not provide them yourselves? How can he have so many arms to beat you with, if he does not borrow them from you? The feet that trample down your cities, where does he get them if they are not your own? How does he have any power over you except through you? How would he dare assail you if he had no cooperation from you? What could he do to you if you yourselves did not connive with the thief who plunders you, if you were not accomplices of the murderer who kills you, if you were not traitors to yourselves? You sow your crops in order that he may ravage them, you install and furnish your homes to give him goods to pillage; you rear your daughters that he may gratify his lust; you bring up your children in order that he may confer upon them the greatest privilege he knows — to be led into his battles, to be delivered to butchery, to be made the servants of his greed and the instruments of his vengeance; you yield your bodies unto hard labor in order that he may indulge in his delights and wallow in his filthy pleasures; you weaken yourselves in order to make him the stronger and the mightier to hold you in check.”

From all these indignities, such as the very beasts of the field would not endure, you can deliver yourselves if you try, not by taking action, but merely by willing to be free.”

And the last point, which really is the point:

“Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.”

You can get the whole masterpiece from the Mises Institute, with a forward by Murray Rothbard, which I think is almost as good as the piece itself.

What about Hitler - A Christian Approach to the Question of Extreme Violence

Libertarians often talk about the Non-Aggression Principle as the cornerstone of their theory of private property. While NAP provides a reasonable framework from which to build a system of ethics, it fails to comprehensively address issues such as:
1) When defensive violence can be used
2) To what extent defensive violence is justified
3) Preventing radical evil from rising to power in ways that can't be diffused by NAP

Without the transformational message of Christ, frameworks like NAP quickly descend back into survival ethics, the same founding ethics of all statist ideologies. The Kingdom of Man. The civilization founded by Cain's murder of Abel.

In this presentation, Charles McCarthy discusses how the non-violent Christian, acting in the non-violent Way of Christ is to face evil. How we are to bear witness to the Prince of Peace and acknowledge that Christ does not ask us to do anything that is impossible, unreasonable, or impractical. Act in the Spirit of Christ and evil will flee. Act in the Spirit of Satan, and hell on earth will manifest.

Venezuela

Things seem to be getting more serious in Venezuela, I say that only because the U.S. state wants so badly to stick their nose in their business.
Really, any foreign “leader” should know by now it’s a dangerous to not only be an enemy of the US State, but it is also dangerous to be a friend of the US State, as it has a history of leaving you in the lurch whenever convenient.
I used to think US military intervention, as in boots on the ground in Venezuela was too much for even the US to consider, but now I wouldn’t be so shocked if they do invade. These people are sociopaths.
