"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams
Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left. Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State. Please join us!
The great Gerard Casey joined us today to talk with us about that ever contentious chapter in the Bible, Romans 13.
Professor Casey takes us through the historical thought on it, as well as delving into the Greek translation of Romans.
If you have ever had questions or maybe even concerns on what this passage of scripture is teaching us, you won’t want to miss out on this.
Also, check out his new upcoming book on Amazon,
We will be having some big changes to the website, we will be moving to a new site, as we have secured the Patriot's Lament domain! We will have a redirect here that will take you to it when we make the change. This will allow us to do a lot more with the site, and since we have a lot of cool stuff we are planning, including expanding the Patriot's Lament universe, this will be a good move for all of us. We are committed to take this to a new level. Thank you all for the support you have given thus far, and join us in the next adventure as we move forward.
Let's do this.
Feel free to email either myself or David with any thoughts or comments at our new email addresses:
In our latest video blog, I comment on a USO post to " sign this card in the comment section to show your appreciation for the troops".
So I went to the comment section (not to sign it) and saw that probably 80% of the comments had a anti-war sentiment, nothing derogatory towards the troops, but nothing that was rah rah 'merica. Later, when I tried to find it to read some of the comments on our video, I found that it had been pulled.
Well, today it is back up, and there are zero anti-war comments, and plenty of thank you for your service type comments.
Well, I can only conclude that they pulled the post, and started over with a clean slate, and put a bunch of pro-troop (whatever that means, Ron Paul always said he as the only presidential candidate who supported the troops, because he wanted to bring them home) messages on there and no one would ever know the difference. Forget that there is any sentiment out there that is against U.S. aggressive wars. In fact, makes sure no one evens knows there is.
Congresswoman now running for president, Tulsi Gabbard, was recently one of the candidates in the debate for the democratic primary. She is the only candidate who is running primarily on a anti-war platform. During the debate, she was the most searched name on google search. Oh but you heard all about that, right? No.
Except for Tucker Carlson, she was barely even given any time on the news channel shows, while Tim Ryan, who thinks the Taliban hit the towers on 9-11, and got taken to the wood shed by Gabbard, was on all the main stream media outlets, getting to set the record straight, but he just took the opportunities to attack Gabbard for meeting with Bashar Assad, president of Syria.
These same things happened to Ron Paul, especially during his 2012 presidential campaign. Despite polling among the top 3 in most polls, news programs would literally skip over the number he polled.
We don't have to wonder too hard at what is happening. The war machine is very mighty, and it will go out of it's way to silence, or just help you ignore, it's opponents, making anti-war folks feel alone, exactly how they want you to feel.
Followers of the Way shouldn't get too frustrated about all this, although we certainly can feel mournful for the loss of life that war produces.
Still, we are living in the kingdom of man, and man likes to kill each other and profit from it.
What should encourage us, is that we have the Truth on our side, we are correct in our convictions against war, and there are a lot of good people out there that need to hear from us that the message we are bringing them, the Good News, is the good news of Peace. I feel more than ever that Isaiah's job, speaking for the Remnant to hear, is a job we can not let up from, because their ears are ready to hear.
They are out there, and they need encouragement to stand against the tide for Truth, the truth that Peace is better for all of us, and war is simply a tool of Satan in the world today, with the promise to his minions that if they will just keep sending those created in the image of God to continually kill each other, he will keep their pockets full of loot.
And it's no small irony, that it is stolen loot in the first place.
