"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams

Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left.
Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State.

For those who say," Why, that's unconstitutional"!

So, what do they care?

Better figure it out quick. If your Rights come from a piece of paper, you're screwed, you only got like 2 or 3 Rights left. LOL

  3. When Obama does something a "conservative" considers bad he calls it unconstitutional. When a Republican does something unconstitutional the "conservative" says, "The Constitution isn't a suicide pact."

    1. Jim-

Thus proving -once again- that neither the "R"s or the "D"s have any care whatsoever for the Constitution.

The founders considered outlawing political parties.

Sometimes I wish they had, as the motto becomes "Party before country" as they come to see their party as the greatest hope of the country.

  4. Well as long as we have that 2nd amendment we are free though.
HA! While I do value the Right to be armed, folks who cling to their "2nd amendment rights" yet sit idly by while their everyday life is trampled on will not fight to keep even their Arms, if one day the State comes to take them. But why would they? The state has effectively taken dominion over Americans without taking them, so why bother.
Let them eat cake. Let them keep their guns.

  6. And that is why I no longer have any energy for the 2nd Amendment "fight" such as it is. "You can strip me naked at airports, read my every waking or sleeping thought, tax me endlessly, regulate anything I might want to eat or drink, just let me keep my guns."

Just one more way in which the means are sanctified and the ends are forgotten. And it isn't like the end isn't actually mentioned there in the amendment -- a free state.
