"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams

Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left.
Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State.

Today's Scripture

"But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters."

That's I Peter 4:15, and I nominate it as the new inscription chiseled over the entrance of every bureaucracy, whether national, state, or local, the Congress and local legislatures, the White House, police precincts, military installations, and courthouses. It may not trouble unregenerate bloodsuckers, but hopefully it will give pause to "Christians" who "work" for the State, murdering, thieving, committing evil and meddling in our matters on our dime. And it will remind the hapless serfs forced to enter those buildings of the State's antipathy to all things decent.

Thanks to Joshua Bennett and my other siblings in the Lord here at Patriot's Lament who've invited me to join them. I'm deeply honored. And I'd love to hear from you, the readers who make the audience of Patriot's Lament so special! You can either comment below or email me at libertatem[at]aol.com.

  1. We tend to like the scriptures which tell us to not do the things we're not really very tempted by. Makes us feel better than those who are.
