"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams

Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left.
Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State.

Eric Holder to give rationale for assassination of Americans by the President

Eric Holder, U.S. attorney general, gives a speech today on why the President has the "right" to murder Americans without due process that was guaranteed to us by the bill of Rights. Those same Rights that all those in the government swear to uphold and defend. So, if they break that oath, are we obligated to obey anything they command? Don't they give up the Right to govern when they break their oath to us? Aren't we supposed to be the ones who consent to be governed, and on the basis that our Rights are not to be infringed upon?
Is this government legitimate?

The people cannot delegate to government the power to do anything which would be unlawful for them to do themselves. ... whenever the Legislators endeavor to take away, and destroy the Property of the People, or to reduce them to Slavery under Arbitrary Power, they put themselves into a state of War with the People, who are thereupon absolved from any farther Obedience, and are left to the common Refuge, which God hath provided for all Men, against Force and Violence. A lesson from James Madison

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."

"Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other."

"No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

And finally;
"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."

I know these days people don't have much respect for those old dead guys who lost blood and fortune to secure our Liberty. I know they weren't perfect men, and they sometimes did things that flew in the face of the very Liberty they sought to secure. Oh sure, we hear talking head idiots say things like,"the founding fathers told us," then they do the exact opposite of what they did tell us.
But we would do ourselves Justice to look at the writings and the warnings these men gave us. Who can look at our history this past century and see where we have gone to war and come out being more free here at home?
September 11th, 2001.
Under the guise of fighting a foreign enemy, we have the Patriot Act. We have seen the president kill American citizens without due process. We now get groped when we want to fly within our own country. We now have roadside checks where your car can be searched merely because you are traveling.
And now, the NDAA. Soon, the expatriation act. And don't think it's going to get better. They are warning us now.

"For him who has an ear, let him hear".

We may well be going to war with Iran. Many know this would be a stupid idea, but the chicken hawks want it. And I think they will get it. So what's the point of this post?

They are coming to get us!!!

Maybe the folks in charge (the guys that have all the guns pointed at our heads) actually have read the writings of Madison, maybe they read these quotes and said," Hey! That's a great idea!"

I wonder how many miles they will get out of this gallon of gas.

The Quirin Precedent

I realized I never put this on the blog. It is called the ""Quirin Precedent".

A link to what it is can be found here: Quirin Precedent

This is extremely important because this precedent is what your representatives are spouting off as to why the passage of the NDAA is constitutional.

Key phrase: Law of War.

Sec. 1032(3) of the NDAA, DISPOSITION UNDER LAW OF WAR.
DISPOSITION UNDER LAW OF WAR. – For purposes of this subsection, the disposition of a person under the law of war has the meaning given in section 1031(c), except that no transfer otherwise described in paragraph (4) of that section shall be made unless consistent with the requirements of section 1033. 9

Rules under the Law of War according to the Supreme Court in the Quirin Precedent were different than rules under the Articles of War. Why?
The Law of War is in effect when the country is under Martial Law.
Under the Law of War, the Constitution has no authority. The Congress is claiming and has even put in the legislation authority to the President under the Law of War.

So we connect the dots........ we are under Martial Law, and all power is held by the Executive under the Law of War.

Your representatives have put it in record.

Public service announcement from your friends at Patriot's Lament

You might want to print this and study it for future references.

Good luck!!

I will try to find one with better resolution, the first one I got was good but someone said it had a virus.
Sorry.
