"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams

Welcome to Patriot's Lament. We strive here to educate ourselves on Liberty. We will not worry ourselves so much with the daily antics of American politics, and drown ourselves in the murky waters of the political right or left.
Instead, we will look to the Intellectuals and Champions of Liberty, and draw on their wisdom of what it is to be a truly free people. We will learn from where our Providential Liberties are derived, and put the proper perspective of a Free Individual and the State.

Patriot's Lament September 22, 2012: Ram It Down Their Throat and Chip Away Legitimacy

In this episode we talk about the U.S. government's foreign policy, and we ask "what would Jesus do"? We talk about the Mennonites leaving the US and we talk more about lending legitimacy to the State.

  1. Back in my pacifist days, I had a bumper sticker on my car that read, "Who Would Jesus Bomb?"

I would have been more welcome at a typical American Christian church if I had a pentagram tattooed on my forehead.

    1. I admire the mennonites, and would admire them more were it not for the Mennonite Church USA's support for citizen disarmament- that is, the practice of confiscating guns using the tools of the state. That is, the Mennonite Church contradicts itself and is for the enforcement of citizen disarmament backed by government violence.

      Heh.

    2. The corporate church is no doubt not right, they can and should believe what they want, but not when it comes to forcing people to believe what they believe.

Some of my admiration is actually to the Quakers, when I look at their early roots, in the American colonies.

  2. HAHAHA, no doubt.

The sad thing was the whole conversation came about because a caller brought up Christianity, and when we asked him about it, he said Jesus would ram a sword down the muslims throat.
Wow. I still haven't found the scripture he was referring too.
    Sad.

    1. You have to be kidding me!

      That's insane!

I'd help you look for that scripture, but, well, it's more likely to be found in the Koran than the Bible.

Odd, when we become what we fear and hate.

    2. It's similar to the debate going on right now. Romney said that our objective is for peace, to live in a peaceful world. And then goes on to say that the only way to have peace is for the US to be strong enough to project it's power.
      Peace by murder.
      Sounds so good.

  3. The number of soldiers in China's army is irrelevant unless China manages to figure out Star Trek style transporters.
